Systems for remote, automatic identity verification are being used in more and more sectors of the economy, responding to the requirements of national and international regulations in the field of eKYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering).

Reading data from identity documents is a basic component of every identity verification system currently on the market. In order for identity verification to be possible, it is necessary to verify whether the presented document is genuine or fake.

Currently available document verification solutions are based on manual assessment by a system operator, automatic analysis of data integrity, or analysis of the image characteristics of the holder taken from the visual inspection zone of the document. They have their limitations (see Description of Innovation). Due to the growing popularity of automatic identity verification systems, it is necessary to develop new solutions that provide multi-faceted information security and prevent new forms of abuse.

The aim of the project is to develop new, remote methods of identity document verification. In the course of research, algorithms will be developed to prevent new types of attacks to which currently available solutions are not resistant. Particular emphasis will be placed on the scalability and efficiency of solutions for large datasets. The project also includes, among others, analysis of cryptographic protocols, anonymization techniques guaranteeing differential privacy, using encryption that preserves data format, metadata analytics about processes, or analytics of the characteristics of presented documents. The resulting solutions will be characterized by higher efficiency indicators than the competition.

The new, comprehensive document verification solution responds to market needs, taking into account IDENTT’s existing competitive advantages, including experience in providing automatic identity verification systems to leading financial institutions in Poland and around the world.

The target groups for the above-mentioned system are entities that use remote identity verification instruments in their relations with customers in order to provide them with their services.
